Two More Mouths to Feed…

Two More Mouths to Feed…

Our brood has grown again!   We recently had a cat show up around our house. She was so cute and really sweet and Chad started feeding her. I wasn’t really sure if she belonged to a neighbor and was just coming over for snacks or if she needed a home.  After a couple of weeks we noticed she was getting rather round through the middle (aren’t we all?). She got bigger and bigger and then disappeared for two days….

Lately

Lately

Here’s a lot of what we’ve been up to lately. I have a serious crush on sweet potato vines after I saw these gorgeous flowers in the mountains.  I even bought one to add to my planter at the side door!  Sadly, it is infested with some sort of gnat like bug…I’m not sure what to do about that.  I keep hoping they’ll just go away.  That could happen, right? We’ve been enjoying lots of fresh fruits and vegetables this…

Sister’s Barn Yard Baby Shower

Sister’s Barn Yard Baby Shower

I can’t believe I never shared pictures from the Barn Yard Baby Shower we threw for my sister way back in February!  The nursery has a farm theme so we decided we would carry that through to the shower. We had one little big problem though.  The stage in the Fellowship Hall at my church was still up from the Christmas Play and taking it down was not an option.  Taking that bad boy down and putting it back up…

First Day of Preschool

First Day of Preschool

We started our week after Labor Day with sweet Avery starting Preschool.  I recycled the same First Day of School breakfast from the week before only with egg sandwiches this time.  It’s hard to believe my baby is old enough to go to school but I’m excited for her to learn and play the same way McKenna did.  Preschool really helped McKenna come out of her shell.  Miss Averycakes is pretty well out of her shell already but I think…

“Putting In”

“Putting In”

In case you forgot, Mr. Right is farmer. He has always farmed. His Dad is a farmer. His grandfather was a farmer. You get the idea. Mr. Right works 80-90 hours per week. Some times more. Some times less, depending on the weather. I feel bad for him. But he loves it and doesn’t seem to mind.  I still wish there was some way that I could help him out though.  But I’m a Jackie O at heart. I know next…

7 Easy Chores to do while the coffee is brewing

7 Easy Chores to do while the coffee is brewing

Well, one thing does.  And that’s the time it takes to brew it. My coffee maker takes around 6-7 minutes to brew half of a pot of coffee.  Here are a few kitchen chores that I’ve started trying to do while the coffee maker is working its magic.  I’ve found that if you do a little each day its a lot more manageable.  Some of them take longer than others.  Some mornings I can do a couple of them and other mornings…

What we’ve been up to

What we’ve been up to

Time flies when you’re having fun.  Evidently we’ve had a lot of it because I don’t know where the first 5 months of the year went. Here’s what we’ve been up to. 1.  Dancing.  The last month has been filled with a dance competition, dance rehearsals and one stinking cute recital. {After her dance competition.  Her group received an “excellent” rating.}{with Miss A before the recital}  {her class before going on stage for their ballet number}  Their ballet was to “My Favorite Things” from…

Another…Small town Saturday night

Another…Small town Saturday night

Fall is here and we are picking cotton.  And by “we” I mean Chad and his employees.  The girls and I took this picture when we delivered pizza to Chad for supper out in Beaufort County. Here’s a little explanation as to what you’re looking at.  The cotton picker is on the left.  Chad is unloading cotton into the boll buggy (center).  And the cotton modules are on the right.  The very last one is still in the module builder…

Small Town Saturday Night

Small Town Saturday Night

We rode out to where Daddy was picking corn to take him supper.  The girls had a blast running up and down the path and the cotton rows.  They also sqeezed in a little time with Daddy on the tractor.  I had my camera with me but could not get a good picture of my girls to save my life.  McKenna was blinged out in one of her cutest outfits and rainboots.  Averycakes was wearing a mixmatched outfit and her…
