Miranda {age 2}

Miranda {age 2}

Our sweet, beautiful Miranda turns two today!  I can honestly say that I don’t know where the time has gone.  She’s been the most wonderful addition to our family.  It’s hard to believe we had a life before she came along. She was born at 4:59am with the sweetest, round cheeks!  She weighed 9lbs 3oz and was 22.5 inches long.  We grow monster babies on the farm!  She captured our hearts from the first moment. First Birthday Centerpieces using Recycled Formula Cans

First Birthday Centerpieces using Recycled Formula Cans

I’m a creator at heart.  That’s a big part of the reason I write this blog.  I like to take old things and make something fantastic or useful or pretty out of them.  The downside of that is when I have something I think I will be able to use in the future, I have a hard time getting rid of it.  But there are only so many hours in a day and only so many projects I can take on.  Let’s…

Easy Birthday Banner

Have I mentioned to you guys before that my oldest and youngest daughters’ birthdays are only one day apart?  So I’m trying to plan a First Birthday party for the baby and another party for my oldest and trying to make sure neither is overshadowed by the other.  And it tax season… So I’m not above taking a short cut or two…that’s where this super easy banner comes in! I was perusing the aisles of Target when I noticed this blank banner…

Easy Crown Headband Tutorial

Easy Crown Headband Tutorial

Sweet girl has a first birthday coming up!  Can you believe it?  I don’t even know how that happened.  We have 1 year pictures coming up and I wanted a cute headband/crown combo for her to wear so I decided to make one.   Here’s what you’ll need…  The crown – I found this one on clearance after Christmas at Target.  It was an ornament that I bought on a whim but knew I could use it for something with three little…

Avery’s 5th Birthday

Avery’s 5th Birthday

Somehow, my baby turned 5 last month.  I’m trying to get the old blog caught up on all things happening on the Bay Bush.  Here are all the details from my Miss Averycakes 5th Birthday!     She wanted a frozen party (only after changing her mind 1,000 times with themes ranging from Ben 10 to Paw Patrol to Princesses).    The cake was so cute and rather tasty! We decided to have her Party at local party place because I…

Birthdays (Continued)

Birthdays (Continued)

 For Miss AveryCakes actual birthday we woke up early and celebrated with Birthday Pancakes.  McKenna told me, “You need to put this recipe on your blog, Mom!”  Bless her heart.  Pretty sure it was the just-add-water pancake mix, confetti sprinkles and a candle.  My secret is out! Instead of the normal snack they have at preschool that day, I brought cupcakes, Doritos and Juice boxes. #easiestpartyever   We brought along Annya for an extra set of hands.  After the…

Birthday Party Photo Booth

Birthday Party Photo Booth

I decided to throw a little photo booth into Avery’s Birthday Party. For those of you just joining us…it was a costume party and you can read all about our silly shenanigans here. But back to the photo booth…To make it I folded a plastic table cloth in half and hung it in the corner of our garage.  Then I taped plain old crepe paper streamers in a line to look like stripes.   I gathered all the silly props (hats, sunglasses,…

Avery’s 4th Birthday Party {Costume Party}

Avery’s 4th Birthday Party {Costume Party}

We decided to throw a little costume party for Avery’s 4th birthday.  Her birthday is around Halloween so we thought it would be fun for me the kids to wear their costumes again.  The awesome thing about a costume party is anything will work theme-wise.  See the Scooby Doo cake below. No one could ever accuse our families of being stuffy.  Most of the adults were dressed up in costumes and had as much fun as the kids.  Clearly, we don’t take ourselves…

Making Envelopes to Fit 4×6 Party Invitations

Making Envelopes to Fit 4×6 Party Invitations

    Somebody on the Bay Bush has a birthday coming up!  I love using photo cards for birthday invitations.  They’re fun, easy and you don’t have to hand-write the who, what, when and where on there.   This shop on Etsy has a ton of cute ones.  I usually have mine printed as 4×6 photos at my local Walgreens to save time.  The 4×6 size is a lot cheaper to print if you need a lot of them.  The only problem is…

McKenna’s 6th Birthday

McKenna’s 6th Birthday

My sweet first-born turned six at the end of April.  I know I sound like a broken record but… How can she possibly be six?  Where did the time go? She loves to color, draw and create little masterpieces to give away.  So we thought an art party was in order to celebrate her big day!  Luckily there was an opening at our local pottery painting studio (because I tend to wait until the last minute to get my act…
