2011 in Review

Dang!  Where did this year go?  I can’t believe it’s almost 2010!  Umm…2011? Definitely not 2012!?!

Here is a quick and dirty recap of our year.

Last January we hit the Caribbean with my clan Carnival style.  A good time was had by all!

We also got to party princess style with some of the sweetest peeps ever.

In February, Chad hit the big 4-0 and demanded no celebrations. An anonymous party may have taken an ad out in our local newspaper just to be sure he felt some love.

March flew by without a hitch and in April, McKenna turned 4 years old and Chad and I celebrated a whopping 6 years of marriage. We are in it for the long haul.

McKenna celebrated by whacking off most of her hair!
In May, we were proud parents at McKenna’s first dance recital.  She danced to “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”
We also had a blast at the bluegrass festival in Denton.

June was a whirlwind filled with Bible School, playing outside and just having fun! I also wrote a sweet little post about Miss Averycakes.

In July, we made a trip to White Lake and then to Myrtle Beach, SC for the 4th.
 Whats that smell
We also took a fantastic trip to the zoo!!Carosel

In August, we faced Hurricane Irene, flooding and no electricity for 4.5 days.  I hope that is not something we have to deal with anytime in the near future.

I also made over the headboard for McKenna’s bed!

September forced us back to school and dance classes. We hate to see summer go but still squeezed in lots of time outside.

And I squeezed in a little more time to makeover this little stool for the girls’ bathroom.

The highlight of October was Halloween! We had the sweetest costumes on the Bay Bush!

I managed to squeeze in a little time for crafting and made over this little $2 yard sale table into a night stand for McKenna’s bed.  I love how it turned out!

November brought Avery’s 2nd birthday and my age is just a number and who really keeps track after 21 anyway birthday.  Avery had a sweet little Dora party.  Where does the time go?  She is my baby.

Can you believe how much she has grown since the picture in January?!?

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Chad’s family and then headed to Myrtle Beach for Black Friday and a little down time. In this context, down time means shopping.

And now December has come and gone.  We spent the early part of December decking the halls and I also made a few Christmas crafts.  My Peppermint Wreath was the most popular!
final edit

We had a simply wonderful Christmas. On Christmas Eve we dined with my husband’s family at my sister-in-law’s house. After dinner we drove to look at Christmas lights and fireworks!

On Christmas morning McKenna woke us up at 5:30am. The girls opened presents from Santa and played until we headed to church at 10am.
Vroom Vroom!
Then we had brunch with my family and dinner that night at my Granny’s house. Now I need a food intervention.

We are so blessed. Some days I have to pinch myself because I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I hope my lucky streak continues into 2012 and beyond! And I wish the same for you!

Until next year…

p.s. I’m linking up to I <3 Naptime!
