I had a few extra minutes this afternoon and decided to pull out the old red, white and blue for Independence Day.
I used the same bunting that I’ve had for the last two years but decided to mix it up a little with burlap this year.
I found a roll of wide burlap at Michaels, added a 40% off coupon and made two of these beauties in less than 10 minutes. This was the first time I’ve made anything out of burlap. The burlap was SO EASY to use! I found it was easier to tie a bow out of the burlap than wired ribbon. {It does have a unique smell though.}
The bow is three simple loops on each side tied with a piece of string in the middle. I used one long piece folded in half to make the tails and cut an inverted “v” into the tails to finish off the bow.
Now my front porch is all ready for July 4th!
UPDATE: Here is a link to a little Burlap Bow Tying Tutorial I did!
p.s. I’m linking up to I Heart Naptime, Serenity Now, My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia, It’s Overflowing, Serendipity and Spice , and Home Stories A to Z!
cute! do you think you can do a more explained tutorial on how you made the bow? I'm thinking of making them for my aisle decor for my wedding.
Here it is! Thanks for dropping by!
