We decided to throw a little costume party for Avery’s 4th birthday. Her birthday is around Halloween so we thought it would be fun for me the kids to wear their costumes again. The awesome thing about a costume party is anything will work theme-wise. See the Scooby Doo cake below.
No one could ever accuse our families of being stuffy. Most of the adults were dressed up in costumes and had as much fun as the kids. Clearly, we don’t take ourselves very seriously.
{I’m supposed to be Princess Kate but no one seemed to get it. Mom was a nerd and Sister was some sort of Roman toga-esque pregnant person.}
We rented a Bounce House and had a little “Dig for Treasure” station filled with plastic rings, necklaces and other baubles. This was really popular with the smaller kids.
I also threw together a little photobooth using a plastic table cloth and crepe streamers. During the party I took 3-4 pictures of each child with different hats and props. The pictures turned out so cute! I edited them to have six pictures on a 4×6 picture and then cut them down the center to look like a photo strip from a real photo booth. I’m going to include them with the Thank You notes.
{I had to include my sweet helper!}
We rounded out the party with S’mores and more jumping!
{My legs were SO sore the next day!}
Birthday parties are my one-way ticket to Crazy Town. It’s a fact. I know where the bus is headed but I can’t stop myself from getting on. But I did manage to jump out the window before I made it to the final destination of me curled up in the fetal position this time. So that is progress I guess. Avery was so happy and excited that it made all most of the stress worth it.
