So…I’m keeping it real here. I’m going to air a little of my dirty laundry playroom. The playroom had gotten OUT OF CONTROL. Sadly, this picture is not even at the worst of it.
This post on instagram will give you an idea of what I was dealing with.
Walking through the room had become a challenge so there was no way the girls were actually able to play in there.
The biggest problem with the room was the lack of storage. Everything was lined up against the wall in no particular order.
When Annya went to Charlotte for work I begged her to swing by IKEA and pick up this little gem for me. I added a few baskets from Big Lots, Martha Stewart Tags and a couple of posters from my college apartment. And, yes, that TV plays VHS tapes!
I like the tags to let the girls know what belongs in each basket and they can easily be switched out as their storage needs change.
I moved the twin bed out to another bedroom but added the crib mattress to the floor to serve as extra seating for now. I would love to add a little couch or comfy chairs when the girls are a little bigger.
I still want to add a few fun pieces of wall art and shelving in the closet. But I couldn’t wait to share the progress so far. It took many, many, many nights of sorting through toys to get it straight…and who knows when it will be this clean again!
p.s. I’m linking up to Home Stories A to Z, My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia, By Stephanie Lynn, I heart Naptime, Serenity Now, Sondra Lyn, I Heart Organizing, and It’s Overflowing.
Such a fun space! My kids would love it. If you get a chance, please link up to my link party: http://suburbsmama.blogspot.com/2013/11/sunday-linky-36.html
