It’s time for another edition of smitten! If you’re a newer reader, this is just where I share several things that I’m loving at the moment. And since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, some of these may make great gifts for the love in your life!
First up is Victoria. This is filling the gaping hole left in my life when Downton Abbey ended. It’s a Masterpiece Class series on PBS that explores the early years of Queen Victoria’s life. I’m three episodes in and I’m hooked. You can also watch it for free on Amazon Prime if you can’t catch it on Sunday nights at 9pm.
Next up (also on PBS…I don’t have cable y’all.) Mercy Street. I started watching season 1 last year because it came on after Downtown Abbey and was so excited to see they made a season 2! The series takes place in a Union hospital in Richmond, VA during the Civil War. I wouldn’t exactly call it kid-friendly as it can be a little gory. It has Josh Radnor (from How I Met Your Mother) as one of the main characters.
Next are these adorable re-useable coffee mugs with lids. They come in a set of 5. My sister in law gave me a set and I have enjoyed them so much. They are great for grabbing a cup of coffee on my way out the door in the morning. Here’s an affiliate link to a similar set on Amazon.
We didn’t go to Disney this year but I’ve been living vicariously through a couple of friends who have visited. I’m totally wanting one of these t-shirts the next time we go. Or for the next time I go to the grocery store. Whichever.
Next up is What on Earth Am I Here For by Rick Warren. I joined a Bible Study (a little late) but have really enjoyed reading this book so far. It has 40 daily readings that are around 5 pages long that go along with the group study guide for the week. I finally made it to my first group meeting yesterday and am so glad I went.
It’s been a total game-changer in the way I approach life and its challenges. I would recommend the book even if you don’t have a Bible Study group near you.
Mr. Right had a Birthday and I’m pretty smitten with him year-round. He was going out of town the night of his birthday so I cooked Bacon and Eggs for him that morning. Wife of the year y’all. We celebrated with the families when he came home.
I put out an APB on Facebook and Instagram about my search for a church pew. My friend Jodi at Lyndale Drive took this photo of the one in her home. Isn’t it pretty? If you see a cheap one in Eastern NC please let me know!
That wraps up another edition of Smitten! Thanks for hanging with me until the end! Have you seen or used any of the products I shared? Tell us about it in the comments!
