Neutral Fall Table

Love a neutral table? Check out this fall tablescape! #falltable

This post was originally scheduled to post 10 days ago as part of a Fall Tablescape Blog Hop.  However, my area suffered unbelievable devastation from Hurricane Florence and I just could not bring myself to post it while so many of my neighbors lost everything but the clothes on their backs.  My “Neutral Fall Table” didn’t seem very important in the grand scheme of things.

Hurricane Florence

This is just one of many streets in New Bern, Havelock, River Bend, Wilmington, Pollocksville and Trenton, NC.  You can find a street like this in most any town in coastal NC or northern SC.  I have no idea what sort of toll seeing the things you’ve worked hard and paid for thrown out on the curb takes on a person.  I hope I never know.  The silver lining in Hurricane Florence has been the overwhelming outpouring of support, donations, volunteers and prayers.  People have come together to take care of their neighbors, friends and family. And that has been truly heartwarming.

Things are slowly starting to get back to normal for the rest of us (i.e. the ones who didn’t lose everything).  We have electricity again (after 5 long days without it.)  The kids are still out of school.  They’ve officially been out for the Hurricane longer than they were in it to begin with.  There is one school in their district where around 90% of the students lost their homes.  I can’t imagine.

And I still feel a little silly posting a tablescape…but here is the original post scheduled for last week.  And please stay tuned until the end to check out the fabulous tablescapes my friends posted last week!

Do oranges and reds clash with the rest of your home? Try decorating your table for fall in white, beige and gold like this table.

I started by scavenging my house for all.the.things. in my color palette and I tried to stay in the white, beige and gold families.  I even snagged a white scarf from my closet and used it instead of a table runner!

Love to decorate for fall without using red and orange? Try a white and gold tablescape!

Luckily, I had plenty in my color scheme so I didn’t have to buy a single thing!

Gold, White and beige Fall table

The pumpkins, tall vases, moss and candle sticks all came from the Dollar Tree over the years. The white turine was a lucky yardsale find several years ago.

  1. Oh Amanda, I really appreciate your compassion and consideration for not wanting to post this on the scheduled date. Totally understandable. My heart goes out, along with yours, to all of those affected.

The tablescape is indeed beautiful. It is made even more so when one considers the surrounding events. Very tastefully done.

  2. I think it was so considerate and thoughtful of you to wait to post your tablescape! Glad to hear that you were safe and that things are starting to return to normal for you. I can’t imagine what the affected people are going through, although I am glad to hear of the support they are getting. Your tablescape is lovely, I love the neutral colors!

    1. Thank you! I hated to let everyone down but I felt so weird about posting it I just couldn’t. (I still feel a little that way!) But maybe if will give someone a little distraction from reality. Thank you for your kind words!
