One Room Challenge {Week 4}

Welcome to the longest week of my life.  Stomach bug x 4 plus 2 birthdays = Amanda is struggling.  But since I already missed two weeks worth of One Room Challenge updates I feel like I have to post an update.

So I don’t know if this is even Week 3 or 4 or what but here’s an update.  I’ve done very little actual work in the room but have picked out and bought a lot of stuff for it.

We were in Myrtle Beach, SC for Spring break last week so I took my Sweetie Pie shopping for stuff for her new room and found some major deals!

We happened to go into Kirklands and they had an additional 40% off green tag items.  We found this huge piece of art for $15! We also picked up a few other items for $2-3 each that I shared on my Instagram stories!  Follow me here on Instagram to get sneak peeks!

McKenna fell in love with this bedding from Target.  It was sold out in the size we needed but I found it new on Ebay for the same price so it’s on the way.

We were stumped on what to do about her bed.  She wanted a daybed but I was worried she wouldn’t like going back to a smaller bed.  She is a wild sleeper so she needed at least a full sized bed.  I found an antique daybed on Craigslist for $30 that I thought I could convert to a full sized but someone snatched it up before I could get it.  So I turned to my old faithful, Amazon and found this beauty!

It should arrive today.  I know McKenna will be begging to put it together when she gets home from school!

And then there’s the confetti wall…The jury is still out on this.  I bought these vinyl stickers off of Amazon.  We put them on the wall and the next morning several of them were peeling up.  I’m not sure what (if anything) I can do to fix them if anything.  The ones I used in my gold polka-dot wall worked 1000% better.  They haven’t peeled at all in 3 years.

So that’s where we are…peeling stickers and all!  The only major thing we have left (other than putting it all together) is to find her some sort of desk.

  1. It sounds like you’ve made a lot of progress! Shopping and finding everything that I need for a room always takes more time than I think it will. It’s such a bummer that the stickers are peeling. What a pain! I really like the artwork you picked out! $15 is a steal! Good luck with the last 2 weeks!
